Historic Home Renovation in Beaufort, Charleston and Savannah
Renovating older and historic Lowcountry homes, with structure, systems and design review planned from the start.
Renovating historic Lowcountry homes
Palatial Homes Design LLC renovates older and historic homes in Beaufort, Port Royal, Charleston, Savannah and across the Lowcountry. These homes need a different approach from new construction: investigate first, respect what makes the house worth keeping, and bring structure and systems up to date without erasing its character.
Historic design review
Beaufort’s downtown is a National Historic Landmark District, and exterior work there goes through the City of Beaufort’s design review. In Charleston, the Board of Architectural Review reviews changes in the historic districts, and Savannah’s historic districts have their own design standards. We prepare drawings for review and build approval time into the schedule.

- Structural repair and termite or water damage remediation
- New electrical, plumbing and HVAC routed with minimal disruption
- Kitchen and bathroom updates inside historic floor plans
- Additions that match original materials, rooflines and trim
- Window and exterior work that meets review standards
